I think what we look for most is a combination of virtuosity and a singular artistic voice.
We need to focus on developing new kinds of art but still maintaining this tradition of excellence and virtuosity that we have in our 100 year history.
From the invention of the radio, we've all been talking to each other, eating each other's food... we've been studying each other's languages.
And now, even just in America, we're retrenching back into tribes.
You have western classical music and hip hop.
Many people see them as the polar opposites of cultural expression.
What Hip Hop Orchestra Experience I think is doing is really creating new music.
It's creating something that audiences haven't experienced before, that they can feel equally welcome and discover each other and create a new audience.
This is a revolution.
