No progress almost a year after groundbreaking ceremony
Almost one year ago state and city leaders in Atlantic City took part in a ceremonial groundbreaking for a major grocery chain. The event was hailed as a breakthrough, the end of the struggling city’s status as a so-called food desert. Promises were made that a ShopRite supermarket would be complete within a year but construction has not even started.
